Face your fears. Shed no tears. Enjoy the cheers. A new public speaking and leadership club at RRU gives you an opportunity to practise presentation skills in a fun and supportive environment. This group is open to all: learners, faculty, support staff, administrators and the general public.

The program is self-paced and geared to those who are nervous about public speaking, and those who enjoy it and want to be even better.

Weekly tip: Success in life is largely related to showing up. Making a good impression is step 2. Having something meaningful to contribute is a good follow-up. Toastmasters is a learning-by-doing program that offers all three.

Meetings employ the Toastmasters model for developing presentation and leadership skills, where you can hone your abilities in a fun, supportive atmosphere, by giving presentations and receiving constructive evaluation from peers.

Toastmasters meetings involve a variety of leadership roles, prepared speeches and impromptu presentations. You will learn how to run an efficient, productive meeting, involve participants and facilitate deep learning.

Royal Roads Toastmasters is one of over 30 such clubs in Greater Victoria and 13,000 around the world. Participation from all groups and all skill levels at RRU will ensure a rich, sustainable learning experience.
