Continuing Studies continues to grow

If you find yourself in the Grant in the main floor hallway, you may notice that CS has expanded to include an additional office – Grant 125A near the photocopier and across from the stairwell.

Deanne Turnbull Loverock, Susan Kerr and our newest member of the team, Sandra Cranz (read more in People at RRU) can be found leading the Employment Skills Access program. This innovative program is funded by the BC-Canada Labour Market agreement to help non-EI eligible people gain skills and confidence to fairly compete for jobs as they enter or re-enter the workforce in areas that forecast (or are experiencing) a labour shortage. “Success” is also measured in participants going onto to higher education. 

This innovative program at RRU is experiencing astonishing results and much interest (and accolades) from both government and the public as we anticipate 128 participants will successfully complete the program this year. In the coming months, CS will be recruiting for 64 seats for intakes in both March and April so there is a very good chance you might find Dee, Susan and Sandra on the phone when you drop by! (They have let it slip that they will happily accept chocolate in lieu of office-warming gifts!)
