RRU's recruiters have been busy

Left or right: Mike Thompson, Sandy Huang, Vivi Doersam, Joshua Guilar, and Timothy Kituri.

For past three weeks Royal Roads University recruiters, Tim Kituri and Sandy Huang, have been on the road attending college visits and conferences in Ontario. The first week they attended college and transfer fairs. Thank you for all the help from faculty and staff that also attended. It was an excellent team effort.

Joshua Guiller, Mike Thomson, Matt Dodd, Vivi Doresam, and Erich Schellhammer all spent time visiting classrooms, developing relationships, meeting with the CEO and board of CMC Canada as well as helping out at the RRU booth. In total, they visited all of the Humber, Seneca, Sheridan, Fanshawe, and Georgian College campuses. It was a rigorous week, but after it was all said and done they collected contact information from over 70 individuals eager to be at Royal Roads. Again this was an amazing team effort and they thank everyone who made this possible.

During the second week Sandy was in Ottawa attending the CANNEXUS 2010 conference, and Tim was in Toronto at the HRPA (The Human Resource Professional Association Conference). At Cannexus, a National Career Development conference sponsored by CERC (the Canadian Education and Research Institute for Counseling), attendance was up 25 per cent . Sandy spoke to nearly 150 delegates over three days. They were looking for higher education and specific training programs for both themselves and their clients.  The most popular programs were Coaching, MA-Leadership, MBA, MA-PC, and the HR certificate.

This year's HRPA’s annual conference attendance was definitely up.  Professionals were looking for information about obtaining the academic credentials needed to move up in their careers. The most popular programs were Executive Coaching, MBA-HR, MA-Leadership, HR certificate, MAPC, and MA-Conflict Analysis and Management. There were a lot of "first time shoppers" -- young HR professionals in their mid-30s to late 30s exploring the possibility of getting a graduate degree or a graduate certificate. At least 20 people came to our booth specifically asking about the Executive Coaching program.

RRU's blended learning model and programs continue to be the draw. Positive awareness of Royal Roads University is definitely on the rise.

This week Tim and Sandy will be at the EDCO (Economic Developers Council of Ontario) conference and they will be the only University level institution in attendance.

Dozens of conference attendees lined up to hear about RRU's MBA program. The view books flew off the table. People were interested in education and they were listening to what we have to offer.

Next week Tim and Sandy are looking forwar to attending the FCM, (The Federation of Canadian Municipalities) annual conference in Ottawa.
